Renovation of the floor of a previously unused floor area on the basis of mastic asphalt screed.<\/h2>

The company Julius Brune GmbH & Co. KG wanted to renovate an unused hall in order to make storage space available at short notice. The existing mastic asphalt screed was in very poor condition and had to be completely replaced. As a quick and cost-effective solution for rebuilding the floor, the contract was awarded to a system structure with a high-strength leveling compound based on VELOSIT SC 253 from the East Westphalian building materials specialist VELOSIT GmbH & Co. KG.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n

The existing screed was milled out over a total of 2,000 m2 and the surface was primed with an epoxy primer with complete sanding. Between 6 and up to 50 mm of a leveling compound based on VELOSIT SC 253 was then laid on the concrete floor in a single operation. A total of 45 tons of levelling compound was applied in just a few hours using a Bremat S3.17 pump truck. In order not to remove the color shading after pumping, the surface was not trowelled. Only in the areas with very thick layers was a short buffing operation carried out to speed up the deaeration process.<\/p>\n

The material was also used on the outdoor ramp areas exposed to the elements. In combination with an epoxy primer, the VELOSIT flowable compounds are suitable for outdoor use.
\nA compressive strength of approx. 40 MPa was achieved after just one day, so that the subsequent sanding work could begin. Technically, it is not necessary to sand or polish VELOSIT SC 253, as the surface is already very even and visually appealing in a medium gray tone as standard.
\nHowever, the client wanted a glossy surface with a slightly cloudy color scheme for this project, which could be achieved very nicely with the subsequent finishing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n \n<\/div>\n <\/section>\n \n\n
