Floor renovation with extreme height differences
In a supermarket in Neumünster, a storage room had to be refurbished within a time frame of just one week. The challenge was extreme differences in height, which required a layer thickness of 4 to 50 mm for the top layer. Normally, the deeper areas would have had to be filled with a screed before a second layer of floor filler was used to finish the floor. With a leveling compound based on VELOSIT SC 253, it was possible to install this surface in just one work step.
The floor was very uneven and after shot-blasting there were height differences of more than 45 mm over the entire surface. An epoxy resin primer with full coverage sanding was applied and then leveling pins were measured over the surface with a laser. The leveling compound based on VELOSIT SC 253 with a sand grain size of 0-2 mm was then applied the following day. The usual troweling method was not practicable due to the fact that most of the paving was over 30 mm thick. The material was buffed and, in the thinner areas, only drawn out to the required thickness with the buffing rod.
In total, more than 12 tons of levelling compound were installed using a GB Machines Mobileman D3 from Waldemar Derksen Estrichbau & Baustoffhandel.
In the formulation used here, VEOSIT SC 253 achieves a final strength of over 60 MPa and can be driven on after just a few hours. The warehouse could be used again without restriction the following day.
