The existing floor was milled out with a road milling machine and then shot-blasted.
The surface was then pre-treated with VELOSIT PR 303 2C epoxy primer and a full surface scattering of 0.7 mm – 1.2 mm quartz sand. The existing excavations around some machine foundations were pre-filled with round gravel.
A mineral leveling coating based on VELOSIT SC 253 was applied as the final layer in thicknesses of 10 – 15 mm. The 60 tons were mixed and pumped with a Bremat S3/15 from Kotan Bau, Hanover.
VELOSIT SC 253 can be mixed with different sand grain sizes depending on the required layer thickness, which means that the processing layer thicknesses can be optimally adjusted between 3 mm and up to 50 mm. Forklift trucks can then be driven on the surface again after just 6 hours.
The next day, the surface was lightly polished and impregnated with the VELOSIT FH 921 silicate/siliconate surface finish. This step can significantly improve the cleanability of cement-based surfaces, as the pores are sealed and hydroprobed at the same time.
The customer was very impressed by the rapid progress of the refurbishment. The VELOSIT leveling compound was applied in just 6 hours.
